30-minute desserts, which are exactly what we need to warm up right now
When you have friends who go on a whim (or you just feel like cooking for yourself), making a mess in the kitchen is the last thing you need. But when you are struck by an unstoppable desire for sugar, you never think about the messy consequences. This time, instead of burning the oven and removing several mixing bowls, reach for the cast iron skillet. It is the kitchen tool that never manages to receive a table with only one pan on the table, and now it also brings you sweets. Watch your dessert smoothly in less than 30 minutes and think of the process as your new therapy.
A cast iron skillet provides more even and constant heat to bake your perfects to perfection (yes, that means less chance of burning it). It’s time for a baking marathon - try each of the healthy desserts below and you won’t regret it tomorrow.
1. Oatmeal and chocolate chip cookie
I've never come across an oatmeal cake we didn't want to get our hands on, and this recipe adds tablespoons of coconut and chocolate chips to increase the (healthier) level of indulgence. They are packed with healthy oats, white whole wheat flour, unsweetened coconut, chocolate chips and honey.
2. Light chicken apples
This recipe is an easy way to something sweet and fast: it will only take you 15 minutes in total (both cooking time and cooking time!). Consider an excuse to eat all the apples left in your fruit bowl, as you'll need eight of them. Butter, brown sugar and warming spices are added to make you forget you are eating fruit.
3. Vegan Cookie Cookie
We always hear about peanut butter and chocolate, but this textured and dense sweet is where the pumpkin represents PB. The pairing is so good that you might organize a party to show it off. Get this pan dessert on the go with super-basic ingredients (pumpkin puree is the most 'exotic' thing on the list). You'll only cook for 20 minutes, boys!
4. Fudge chocolate-free banana pan
The stare is rude, but this unpleasant treatment is hard to look at. Our aprons are already lit to make melted chocolate forks in your mouth in 20 minutes. Made without flour or refined sugar, this sweet treatment requires coconut oil, cocoa powder, banana puree, pure maple syrup, vanilla extract and almond butter. That's all, folks.
5. Gluten-free apple pie
Laminated oats, nut butter and maple syrup are just some of the basic ingredients that bring this sweet recipe straight to the healthy list. The recipe uses gluten-free multifunctional flour, so that even those with gluten sensitivity can consume it. You'll be topping the cookie with butter heated in butter (YES) and seasoning things with cinnamon and nutmeg - the perfect combination for that gluten-free oatmeal.
6. Chocolate brownie
If you have ever had a brownie full of sugar, then you will appreciate how this brownie pan successfully locks in the same fudgy, chocolate texture, while maintaining gluten-free, sugar-free, paleo and vegan standards. To this chocolate combo is added espresso (or instant coffee) for a surprisingly unique taste.
7. Chocolate pumpkin cake
This not too sweet pumpkin cake is exactly what your cup of tea needs. The best part is that you won't even notice the 2 1/2 cups of chopped vegetables hidden inside. The other ingredients (oats, cinnamon, ginger, Greek yogurt, coconut oil, almond milk and, of course, semi-sweet chocolate chips) cover it very well.
